Canadian Immigration to Increase from Brazil and Other Countries

In November 2022, after announcing its plan to authorize 1.5 million immigrants to become Canadian permanent residents during the next three years, the government also unveiled its new strategy for immigration to Canada from Latin America and Asia. Canada’s strategic objectives include increasing the number of skilled foreign workers from countries in Latin America and Asia who will become Canadian permanent residents, in order to deal with a major labor shortage. The government stated in the new Canadian immigration strategy that it « will continue to improve processing times and immigration channels for Brazilians. » Furthermore, the Canadian government will encourage more legal immigration to Canada from Colombia, Mexico, India, Pakistan, China, South Korea and other countries.
